The pair spent seven years at Albion together and both started their coaching careers at the club.

Appleton was made Roy Hodgson's assistant in 2011 before he left for Portsmouth later that year to be a number one.

He has since managed Blackpool, Blackburn, and current club Oxford United, but is now being lured to the Premier League by Shakespeare.

The former Walsall and Albion midfielder left the Baggies in 2008 to be Nigel Pearson's assistant at Leicester. He was officially appointed Foxes boss earlier this month.
