Albion's striker is not expected to be out long-term, and should recover in time for pre-season at the start of July, but his absence leaves Chris Coleman short of options up front.

The Wales boss is already without Gareth Bale because of suspension, and has lost Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn to a calf injury.

Robson-Kanu has been replaced by Swansea City’s 19-year-old Daniel James.

In the early hours of Friday morning, Salomon Rondon captained Venezuela to a 1-1 draw with Ecuador.

On Saturday, Albion’s Northern Ireland trio – Jonny Evans, Chris Brunt, and Gareth McAuley – are all expected to feature against Azerbaijan.

Baggies team-mates Jake Livermore and James Morrison could face each other when England visit Hampden Park to play Scotland.

Nacer Chadli could feature for Belgium against Estonia tonight, and James McClean is expected to play some part for the Republic of Ireland against Austria on Sunday after scoring against Uruguay last weekend.
