Pepe Mel managed Albion between January and May 2014.

The Baggies have confirmed they will travel to face Deportivo La Coruna, who are managed by Mel, on Saturday August 5 in their final friendly before the Premier League season.

The game will take place at the 32,000-seat Estadio Riazor where the La Liga club play their home games. It will kick-off at 9pm local time (8pm BST).

Deportivo finished 16th in the Spanish top flight, picking up form following Mel’s appointment as head coach in late February.

The Spaniard had an eventful four month spell as Albion head coach in 2014 but was axed after the Baggies narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.

Ticket information for this fixture – which takes place just a week before the new season gets underway - will be confirmed in due course.

The game will conclude a pre-season schedule which begins with Albion’s now traditional trip to Austria and also includes two games in Hong Kong in the Premier League Asia Trophy.
