The 33-year-old will move to the Potters on a free transfer when his Baggies contract runs out at the end of June.

Fletcher has been club captain ever since his arrival in February 2015, and started 86 consecutive league games under Tony Pulis.

Albion offered him a new two-year deal in an effort to keep the former Manchester United midfielder and a fortnight ago, Pulis was 'convinced’ his skipper would sign the contract.

However, Fletcher refused to sign any Albion deal and has now agreed to join up with Mark Hughes at Stoke.

It's believed he will sign a two-year contract with Stoke after being unable to agree terms with the Baggies.

Meanwhile, Albion are interested in Montpellier striker Steve Mounie. The 22-year-old scored 14 goals in Ligue 1 last season and is on a list of strike targets the Baggies are currently looking into.
