Former West Brom strike partners Lee Hughes and Scott Dobie reunited in strange circumstances
Ex-West Brom striker Lee Hughes met up with former strike partner Scott Dobie this week - but it wasn't your typical catch-up.
Following a career up-front for Albion, Dobie is now working as an armed police officer currently on-post in Merry Hill Shopping Centre, and Hughes happened to come across him.
Former Albion compatriot Hughes was pictured on Twitter with the retired Scotland international, who himself bagged 22 goals in over 100 appearances for the Baggies.
Dobie, now 38, had a career spanning 16-years in football, beginning his career at Carlisle before heading to The Hawthorns. The Scot also had spells with Millwall and Nottingham Forest.
Hughes himself managed nearly 100 goals for Albion over two spells at The Hawthorns, and recently left AFC Telford United for a player-manager role with Worcester City.
Armed police are patrolling Wolverhampton and Birmingham city centres and outside Merry Hill after security was tightened following the Manchester terror attack.
Firearms officers have been mingling in with shoppers and workers going about their day in the West Midlands amid a more visible police presence.
