What memorable games against Burnley can West Brom fans look back on?

West Brom 4-0 Burnley (November 21st, 2016)

Salomon Rondon had a great showing against The Clarets.

You only need look back a few months to find West Brom's most recent win over The Clarets, a result which proved to be the biggest of the season so far and their joint-biggest margin of victory in the Premier League.

Three first-half goals from Matt Phillips, James Morrison and Darren Fletcher got The Hawthorns rocking, and a deflected 64th minute strike from Salomon Rondon topped things off for Albion.

The Venezuelan showed the form he's capable of during the game too in what was a terrific all-round display.

The result brought quite a quote from Burnley boss Sean Dyche too, who stated after the game that he hadn't got a result at The Hawthorns since he broke his leg at the ground aged 17.

The win pushed Albion up to ninth in the Premier League table - a position they could end up in once again if they lose the reverse fixture and other results go against them.

West Brom 4-0 Burnley (September 28th, 2014)

Saido Berahino scores his sides second goal of the game against Burnley

It seems Albion have a trend of dealing out beatings to Burnley at home in recent years, with yet another 4-0 win not too far from recent memory.

Alan Irvine was in charge at the time in what proved to be his first home win, helped out by two goals from then-prolific starlet Saido Berahino.

The game also acted as a milestone for Craig Dawson, who bagged his first Baggies goal whilst Graham Dorrans completed the thrashing, sending Burnley to the foot of the table in the process.

Irvine tipped Berahino for big things following the game, claiming that the young striker was 'a model professional and has fantastic potential' following his second brace of the season.

Make of those quotes what you will, Albion fans...

West Brom 2-1 Burnley (February 2nd, 2008)

Zoltan Gera was on the pitch during Albion's win.

You need to go back to West Brom's Championship days to find the next victorious meeting against The Clarets, in a come-from-behind 2-1 win which extended the club's lead at the top of the table.

Things started poorly for the Baggies in the game, with Dean Kiely beaten by a James O'Connor strike following a Robbie Blake free-kick. However, a Cesar volley levelled the score before Roman Bednar snatched all three points with a header on the hour mark.

The game ended with some late drama too, with Robert Koren missing a late penalty to leave Tony Mowbray on the edge of his seat.

Of course, West Brom went on to claim top spot that season, heading up to the Premier League alongside Stoke and Hull.

West Brom 3-0 Burnley (November 18th, 2006)

Jason Koumas had a solid showing in this Albion win.

Tony Mowbray was also in the hot seat during West Brom's 3-0 victory over Burnley all the way back in 2006.

Goals from Jason Koumas, Nathan Ellington and Darren Carter helped Albion end a five-game winless run in a game that saw Frank Sinclair sent off for Burnley late-on.

Truth be told, the hosts could well have had more, with a young Curtis Davies heading marginally over during the contest, whilst a late Kyle Lafferty strike was the only chance of note for Steve Cotterill's side.

The win rings close to West Brom's current form, with Tony Pulis' side currently also on a winless run totalling five games.

Fingers crossed a similar result sorts things out.

West Brom 4-1 Burnley (August 16th, 2003)

Lee Hughes after his second goal, with Rob Hulse.

Look back almost fourteen years and you come across this 4-1 win, in which Lee Hughes bagged two goals in two minutes to help Albion to victory.

However, it was Burnley who drew first blood in the contest, with Robbie Brady's 25-yard effort beating Russell Hoult in the Baggies goal.

West Brom replied swiftly through Artim Sakiri's long-range effort, before a goal from Rob Hulse gave West Brom the lead.

Lee Hughes bagged his double late on to confirm the win, on the same weekend Wolves lost 5-1 to Blackburn Rovers in their Premier League opener.
