Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has irked West Brom fans on Twitter by slamming the club's size.

Jordan pulled no punches when discussing the Baggies after tweeting regarding Steve Bruce's recent appointment at Aston Villa.

He claimed that there needed to be a big Midlands club in the Premier League, angering West Brom fans, who see their team sit eighth in the table.

The former Eagles owner then went on to label the club and its fans as 'horrid' before claiming that he likes Tony Pulis despite the recent issues between the London club and the Albion manager.

Following a barrage of replies from angry Albion fans, Jordan even began attacking West Bromwich as a whole claiming it to be one of the poorest towns in the country in a tweet since deleted, and listing the club as 'scabby'.

Jordan was owner of Crystal Palace until the club went into administration in 2010.
