West Brom 0 Manchester City 4 - player ratings
Tony Pulis suffered his heaviest defeat as Albion boss at The Hawthorns on Saturday when Pep Guardiola's Manchester City team routed the Baggies 4-0. Here, Matt Wilson rates the Albion players.
Ben Foster
Let in four goals but he should only be disappointed about the first one, which he may have saved on another day. But Sergio Aguero's second was unstoppable, and Ilkay Gundogan's goals were both tidy finishes from close range. 5/10
Craig Dawson
Although he didn't make any glaring mistakes, he did struggled to contain Nolito, who was consistently drifting in off the wing and finding pockets of space. Was one of the three players caught napping for Aguero's second. 5/10
Gareth McAuley
Probably the best of Albion's back four, McAuley may not have stopped the goals going in, but he did manage to hold the defence together. Hit the post in the second half and pulled off a memorable turn in his own half too. 7/10
Jonas Olsson
Kept his place in the team after an impressive performance at Anfield, but he was left flat-footed in the build-up to Aguero's first, and he got subbed off just after half-time. Didn't deserve to be booed or sarcastically cheered off though. 5/10
Allan Nyom
Still looks shaky at left-back and he was taken out of the game by a one-two in the build-up to City's opener, but this was still a slightly better performance from the former Watford man. Improved in the second half. 6/10
Jonny Evans
Brought into a holding midfield role, but he failed to stop City's attackers from bearing down on goal. Looked more comfortable when he was reinstated at centre-back in the second half after the double substitution. 6/10
Nacer Chadli
Started on the wing, where he was anonymous, and then moved inside to play central midfield, where he fared much better. Pinned back in the first half, he put a rare chance over the bar early on, and was largely outshone by City's players. 6/10
Chris Brunt - Albion man of the match
The 31-year-old was impressive on the ball in his first start since that cruel ligament injury in February. Proved over 90 minutes that he can add a cool head in midfield, either centrally, or on the wing. It's good to have him back. 8/10
Darren Fletcher
The captain's poor form continues, and it was his miscue in the first half that Aguero pounced on for his second goal. Despite that, a man with his talent and his glittering career doesn't deserve the reception his substitution received from a minority of fans. 4/10
James McClean
Another brilliant lung-busting performance from Albion's tireless warrior on the wing. Fought for everything, and put a couple of chances on Rondon's plate, but did play Gundogan onside for City's third goal. 7/10
Salomon Rondon
Barely got a sniff in the first half, but he had a couple of good chances in the second half that he should have got on target. A frustrating afternoon for the Venezuelan, but he only had support after half-time. 5/10
Substitutes
James Morrison (For Fletcher 51)
Helped move Albion that extra 10 yards up the pitch to put City under pressure and kept possession well. Deserves a start soon. 7/10
Jonathan Leko (For Olsson 51)
Gave Albion pace and trickery on the wing. Set up McAuley when the centre-back hit the post. 7/10
Hal Robson-Kanu (For Chadli 87)
Not enough time to make an impact. 5/10
