Graham Potter takes charge in Sweden
Former West Brom full-back Graham Potter has overseen his first game in Sweden's top tier as manager of Ostersunds.
The 40-year-old has taken the football club of a little town with a population of 45,000 from the fourth tier to Sweden's Allsvenskan in the space of just five years.
When he joined the side, Ostersunds attracted crowds of 500 but, by the end of last season, they were experiencing 6,500 sell-outs.
Now the club have moved into a new 10,000-capacity stadium. Potter said: "There was no football culture here before."
"It's the winter city and has always produced skiers, but now young boys and girls are joining football schools and you see kids running around in our tops.
"I've got a six-year-old son and it's great to see his friends wearing them."
Born in Solihull, Potter was a journeyman full-back who started his career at Birmingham City, but also played for Stoke, Southampton, York City, Boston United, and Macclesfield Town.
He made 43 appearances for Albion between 1997 and 2000, and during his spell at the Hawthorns, also went out on loan to Northampton Town and Reading.
Potter is following in the footsteps of former Albion head coach and current England boss, Roy Hodgson, who also began his managerial career in Sweden. Last night's game away to Hammarby finished 1-1.
