We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes is ready to hijack Wolves' move for Sammy Ameobi by offering him a switch to Spain.

Moyes, now in charge of Spanish top-flight club Real Sociedad, wants the Newcastle United forward to replace the Atletico Madrid-bound Carlos Vela.

The 23-year-old is expected to sign a new contract with the Magpies and then head out on loan, with Wolves apparently leading Cardiff City and Brighton in the race for his services.

Meanwhile, departed Wolves captain Sam Ricketts could join League One side Coventry City, after holding talks with the Sky Blues.

The 33-year-old, who was released in the summer after two years at Molineux, nearly joined them on loan in January but opted to go to Swindon.

The defender now looks to be heading to the Ricoh Arena, though, having spoken with Coventry chief and former Albion boss Tony Mowbray.

WEST BROM

Out-of-favour West Brom defender Christian Gamboa has been linked with a shock £2million move to Premier League rivals Everton.

The Costa Rica international has been frozen out at the Hawthorns since Tony Pulis took charge in January, playing just once under him.

One FA Cup outing, a 4-0 home win over West Ham, made it 10 appearances for the club since a £2million move from Norwegian side Rosenberg last summer.

But that hasn't stopped the Toffees adding the 25-year-old to their transfer targets, fearing they will lose star right-back Seamus Coleman to Manchester United in this transfer window.

Everton would offer Albion their money back for the player, who has two years left on his contract. He's currently with Pulis' squad on their pre-season tour of Austria.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa want Everton left-back Luke Garbutt on loan for the whole of next season, despite the 22-year-old being tied to a new five-year deal.

He had threatened to leave Goodison Park, having seen his first-team opportunities limited by the presence of England regular Leighton Baines.

Garbutt was persuaded to stay but wants first-team football, which Villa could offer along with a recall clause protecting Everton's interests.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
