Ben Foster looking to get one over on Forster

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster is aiming to knock England rival Fraser Forster off his clean sheet perch - starting with a win against Southampton tomorrow.

Foster is currently placed second in the race for the Premier League 'Golden Glove' award, two clean sheets behind Saints No 1 Forster.

Foster is on 10 clean sheets for the season with Forster on 12, putting both men ahead of England No 1 Joe Hart, Manchester United's David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois of Chelsea.

Foster said: "I am hoping that on Saturday night he will still be on 12 and I will have moved on to 11 clean sheets, that would be nice.

"You think of some of the money that has been poured into football this season and some of the money that these teams have spent.

"To have two teams like Southampton and West Brom at the top of the clean sheets is a fantastic achievement for us

"I am really proud of my record and he will be really proud of his record this season and I hope that we can both add to that, but I would like to move one closer to him come Saturday night."

Rival - Fraser Forster.

Foster and Forster have become good friends after training together as understudies to Hart with Roy Hodgson's England team.

And Forster has made a fine start to life as a Premier League regular after moving to St Mary's from Celtic.

Foster said: "It's going to be great to see Fraser on Saturday. He has done amazingly well since joining Southampton but their whole team has done amazing, to be honest with you.

"I am so happy for Fraser because he is a real top bloke, a star of a guy. It is no surprise that he has done well because he is a class goalkeeper.

"I am buzzing for him because he deserves it, he works hard and he is a top lad so those are the types of guys you want to do well in football

"I only really get to see him when we are away with England and goalkeepers always do their own things anyway.

"But we are always out on the training pitch early and then go into the gym together before and after training."
