Away-day boost for travelling West Brom fans
Albion will subsidise tickets for next month's crucial trip to Swansea – and the club's free coaches will hit the road again for the visit to Norwich in April.
The Baggies have stepped in to reduce the price of adult and concessionary tickets for the Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium on March 15.
And a fleet of 40 free coaches is expected to ferry fans to Carrow Road on April 5 as Albion officials target two potentially bumper away followings to boost their fight against relegation.
Swansea charge £35 for adults and £17.50 for concessions but Albion's decision to subsidise the seats means fans will only pay £20 and £10 respectively.
Albion have requested their full allocation of 2,000 seats for the game in south Wales and chief executive Mark Jenkins said he wants the travelling fans to roar their side to safety.
"We've got some important games coming up and our supporters can play a big part in our remaining 12 fixtures," he said. "We hope the subsidised ticket prices for the Swansea game will encourage our fans to travel in numbers and get right behind the team."
Tickets will go on sale to away season ticket holders online at www.wbatickets.co.uk, in person and by phone on Monday and to home season ticket holders online on Wednesday. They will be available to home season ticket holders in person and by phone on Saturday, February 22; to members online on Monday, February 24; to members in person and by phone on Wednesday, February 26; and on general sale, subject to availability, on Monday, March 3.
Meanwhile, the club are set to announce the return of the free coaches initiative for 12th successive season for the game in Norfolk at the start of April. With both the Baggies and the Canaries battling for survival, the game could be pivotal to the relegation battle and up to 2,000 fans will be ferried to Carrow Road free of charge.
The club has made a similar gesture 12 times over the last 11 seasons for visits to Sunderland, Wigan - both twice - Reading, Hull, Barnsley, Norwich, Charlton, Middlesbrough and West Ham.
The last free coaches offer was for the Baggies' 3-0 win at Southampton in April.
