West Brom's Morgan Amalfitano claims Albion's player of the month

The France international, who was today named Baggies player of the month for September, insisted there is no rush to resolve his future.

But the 28-year-old, who has been a revelation since moving from Marseille with two goals and a string of 'assists', revealed he is happy with Albion and admitted he would be tempted to stay beyond his season-long loan.

Albion have an option to buy Amalfitano from Marseille next summer but boss Steve Clarke has admitted the player will have a large say in his future.

"The most important thing is to do well here and feel good, which is the case," said Amalfitano, giving his first interview with the English media through an interpreter.

"Later on, when the time comes, why not stay? It is a very good collective so it is a good, strong team.

"I have been thinking about the Premier League for a few years and now I am very happy it is happening.

"Now I really want to think about my career and carry on in the best way."

Amalfitano has made a stunning start to his Baggies career, scoring against Sunderland and Manchester United and playing a part in all but one of the Premier League goals the Baggies have scored since his arrival.

They are also unbeaten in the league since Amalfitano signed, and the fans' favourite believes he is well suited to life in England.

He said: "I am learning progressively but I felt I needed a change and people have told me that I am a bit English, which is really great.

"It is about my mentality as a player. I am a winner and hard-worker, which is a bit English.

"I came here with my family and my daughters are going to school.

"I am here with my wife and they are all settling progressively.

"It is for the best, really, because it's important for my football to be here.

"My wife is pregnant and I've got two daughters, aged six and four.

"They will probably end up teaching me English at home!"
