Romelu Lukaku slipping further from West Brom
Romelu Lukaku continues to slip further from West Brom's grasp to ramp up the pressure for two new strikers at the Hawthorns this summer.
Last season's top-scoring loan from Chelsea will begin the new campaign aiming to prove to Jose Mourinho that he is ready for Stamford Bridge's demands.
West Brom are still hoping that Lukaku may yet return for a second spell but the 20-year-old Belgium international only has eyes for Chelsea at the moment.
His latest message over the social network makes that clear with the player saying: "I will train every single part of my body to be twice as good as last year.
"Stronger, faster, bring more quality into my game just to be as deadly as the great masters of the game.
"It will be hard but when you work hard you play hard. Season 13-14 is the season when I stop playing like a boy and will play as a MAN."
The uncertainty about this summer's changes means that captain Chris Brunt was happy to celebrate this week's agreement which kept Steven Reid at the club for another year.
Brunt said: "I'm delighted he's staying. He's a good lad to have around and a good pro.
"He's a good leader and we need characters like that. He's proved that over the last few seasons here."
"I'm sure he was disappointed by the games he missed last season and will want to prove he is ready to play again.
"He looks after himself well, he's usually the first one in and the last to leave from the gym.
"When he suffers set-backs it never seems to affect him – he just gets on with it.
"That's the sort of attitude and character you need in the football club.
"And, at his age, he is someone to look up to."
