Left-back Sean McGinty and substitute John Cofie scored on 84 and 86 minutes respectively as United earned their fourth victory of the Elite Group stage of the Under-21 Premier League.

United nearly opened the scoring on 12 minutes when McGinty headed wide of the right-hand post from Adnan Januzaj's corner.

Midway through the first half, Albion teenager Isaiah Brown jinked past two defenders but saw his left-foot shot blocked by central-defender Michele Fornasier.

McGinty struck a powerful left-footed effort over the bar six minutes later before Adil Nabi's 36th-minute shot for Albion flew just wide after a good pass from Aaron Birch.

Wales international Boaz Myhill, who got some match action under his belt for the Baggies, denied Adnan Januzaj.

Kemar Roofe could have put the Baggies ahead seven minutes into the second-half but his weak header fell straight into the arms of Anders Lindegaard from Wesley Atkinson's right-wing cross.

Myhill saved smartly from Larnell Cole before Roofe's 25-yard free-kick flew just over the bar just before the hour-mark.

Substitute Cofie ran onto Cole's throughball on 77 minutes but saw his powerful effort saved by Myhill.

And Charni Ekangamene rattled the crossbar from 20 yards as United got closer.

The visitors finally got their goal with six minutes remaining when McGinty tapped home from Januzaj's knockback.

And two minutes later it was 2-0 when Cofie hammered a shot past Myhill from the edge of the penalty area.
