Romelu Lukaku: West Brom will get even better
West Brom star Romelu Lukaku today claimed the Baggies are ready to surpass their stunning early-season form.
The Belgium striker believes Steve Clarke's side can perform even better than they did at the start of the campaign.
West Brom return to Hawthorns action tomorrow targeting a Premier League double over Sunderland – the team they beat in November at the height of their red-hot autumn climb to reach third in the table.
And, having helped his side end an eight-game winless run with victory at Liverpool last time out, Lukaku said: "In training I feel we are getting there.
"But we are actually better than earlier in the season because we have learned more from the defeats that we had and there have been new experiences.
"Every week the Premier League is a new experience and I think we have learned.
"We all saw the West Brom at the beginning of the season with the defence very compact and tight and efficiency at 100 per cent.
"If we had three chances we would score two goals, which meant a lot.
"At some points we played good football, especially in the last half-hour when we dominated the game and everybody was doing their work.
"Often when I came on there were open spaces where I could show my qualities. Now is a turning point, I hope. I think we will be better than we were at the beginning of the season.
"We were good, but in this league you always want to be better."
The 4-2 victory on Wearside came at the end of a four-match winning sequence, with Lukaku scoring the Baggies' third goal from the penalty spot.
And the on-loan teenager said: "Hopefully I will get another goal tomorrow against them."
