The Baggies were checking on injuries picked up by Jonas Olsson, Goran Popov and Youssouf Mulumbu in yesterday's win at Queen Park Rangers, with all three big doubts for Saturday's trip to Manchester United.

Boss Steve Clarke, who will almost certainly still be without key midfielder Claudio Yacob at Old Trafford, is facing a potential manpower shortage against the Premier League leaders.

Olsson ended yesterday's game struggling with a groin injury while Popov limped off in the first half at Loftus Road with a hamstring problem and Mulumbu also left the field gingerly because of a leg injury.

The Baggies expect Wood to complete a switch to Leicester in the next few days after the Foxes stole a march on Millwall, where the New Zealand international has enjoyed a prolific loan spell.

The 21-year-old had expressed a desire to stay at the Den but the Lions have not matched the bid of Leicester, who are the only club to have an offer accepted.

Wood was expected in the East Midlands for talks on personal terms and a medical today.
