Albion teenager George Thorne struck a dramatic 94th-minute winner to hand England's Under-19s a 3-2 win over Switzerland in the Euro Elite qualifying round.

Thorne's strike sealed victory in a thrilling finish after the hosts had equalised in the 92nd minute.

Baggies defender James Hurst also played for 90 minutes while the duo's Hawthorns team-mate Saido Berahino was an unused substitute. Switzerland went ahead in the 14th minute when Janick Kamber scored but England were level six minutes later when Middlesbrough midfielder Luke Williams converted a corner.

England went ahead just before half-time through Liverpool striker Michael Ngoo. The dramatic finish put England joint top of their group with Spain, who had earlier beaten Montenegro by 3-0 to seal their second win of the Elite Round.

But Spain's better goal difference means England must beat the Spaniards in Nyon on Sunday to qualify for the European U19 Championship Finals in Romania in July.
