James Morrison believes Albion young midfield stars have 'matured into men' to fire the Baggies to their flying Premier League start.

The 24-year-old has found his best form to help the club climb to sixth place in the Premier League table after eight matches.

Morrison believes he and 23-year-olds Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu are putting their extra maturity to good use.

He said: "I think experience is one of the reasons we are doing well. We're a bit older and we know the game more and we are maturing into men.

"We are getting older and wiser and that's one reason why we're doing well.

"There are a lot of good players and good lads there and you have to get behind the team, whoever plays."

The Scotland international tested himself last week against the best midfielders in the world by lining up for the national team in their 3-2 defeat to Spain.

Morrison believes he picked up some pointers from the likes of Andres Iniesta.

He said: "It was a difficult game but an enjoyable game as well.

"They showed why they are world champions. I like to think I learned a few things from them and you always take things from these games.

"It was a good game for me and I was pleased with how I played."
