The Saddlers, riding high in League Two, host League One Charlton today aiming to create another FA Cup shock after dumping Bolton out in the previous round.

Sadler was under huge pressure this time last year when his team scraped past non-league Alfreton at the same stage of the competition and were struggling at the wrong end of the table.

But the first-time boss quickly dismissed any suggestion the subsequent resurgence means his methods have been vindicated.

Sadler said: “I think it is a dangerous thing to be thinking. All I know is we are trying to put a team out there people can be proud of. That is all I think.

“There is no thinking we have cracked anything here. We are working and working and working. There is only just a third of the season gone and a long way to go.

“I just believe in hard work and I say that to the players all the time. I believe hard work takes us places and that is what I want.

“I want people who are desperate to work hard and that hopefully reflects for the supporters.”
