Brian Dutton wants to improve Walsall's Emmanuel Osadebe

Brian Dutton has hailed ‘talented’ Emmanuel Osadebe as he continues to develop the 24-year-old’s game.

The attacking midfielder has been given a run of matches in recent weeks and at times when the team has underperformed, Osadebe has been one of few players to leave the pitch with any credit.

Although he has improved, his tally for goals and assists is underwhelming with only one goal to his name, and Dutton insists they are still aiming to get the best out of him.

“Manny is a talented player,” Dutton said.

“We’re not in a position where we can go out and get the full package, we have to find these players and develop them.

“Manny falls into that bracket. He’s a hell of a talent. The only thing stopping Manny from getting to wherever he wants to in football is himself.”

Captain James Clarke added: “Manny is a great player.

“I feel for him sometimes because he goes under the radar and he miss him out in certain situations, where if we can get him the ball he can create something. It feels like he floats in and out of games but it’s because we can’t find him sometimes.”
