Tyreik Wright goes for goal

Liam Roberts

Roberts was not at fault for either goal, with one being a wonderful strike and the other from poor defending. He needs more protection to get that much-needed clean sheet.

Unfortunate: 6

Hayden White

White has certainly improved in recent weeks, but still has a mistake in him. His yellow card was poor after giving away the ball.

Improved: 6

Dan Scarr

Scarr has not quite settled in to this new system yet and has made too many mistakes. He was at fault for the second goal by stepping up without the rest of his back line.

At fault: 5

Mat Sadler

Sadler has been solid in the last few months and for the most part he has been consistent. On this occasion he did OK but as a whole the defence needed to do more.

Solid: 6

Callum Cockerill-Mollett

As a late replacement Cockerill-Mollett had a solid first half but struggled to adapt to wing-back in the second half. It looked tired before he came off too.

Tired: 6

Tyreik Wright

The young winger was one of few outlets throughout the game. His attacking runs looked threatening and he delivered several good set pieces.

Bright: 7

Sam Perry

In his league debut the teenager was tidy on the ball and looked assured in and out of possession. He dealt with the situation well after an early yellow card.

Assured: 7

Alfie Bates

A battling performance from Bates who offered something different in midfield than what we usually see. He looked fatigued towards the end of the game however.

Battling: 7

Wes McDonald

For weeks on end McDonald has not produced anywhere near his best. He was anonymous for most of the first half and although he improved slightly in the second half, when he came centrally, he still failed to make an impact.

Better needed: 5

Josh Gordon

Gordon fought throughout and worked hard but the delivery into him was poor and he was isolated up front. His job was made harder and as a result he barely laid a glove on the Bradford defence.

Fighter: 6

Derick Osei Yaw

On his first start for Walsall the striker did not impress. He came short for the ball and rarely received it and for a powerful player did not put the defence under pressure. He looked lost for most of the afternoon and failed to take his chance.

Poor: 5

Substitutes

Caolan Lavery (for Osei Yaw, 57), 6, Frank Vincent (for Perry, 65), 6, Cameron Norman (for Cockerill-Mollett, 65), 6.
