Walsall agree deal to sell Zak Jules to MK Dons
Walsall have agreed a deal with MK Dons to sell Zak Jules, the Express & Star understands.
The 23-year-old has been a key figure in the Saddlers defence this season, often filling in at left-back as well as his more natural centre-back position.
Jules, who signed from Macclesfield in July 2019, is now expected to leave Walsall by today's 11pm transfer deadline.
The defender was out of contract in the summer and is now joining up with former Walsall man, and MK Dons manager, Russell Martin in League One.
Despite being a former Shrewsbury Town player, Jules has never played above League Two level.
It is not known what fee Walsall will receive for the sale.
After loanee George Nurse was recalled by Bristol City, Callum Cockerill-Mollett will be the only recognised left-back in the squad once Jules completes his move.
Player-coach Mat Sadler has played that position earlier in his career and at times this season, while right-backs Cameron Norman and Hayden White have both filled in at left-back during an injury crisis earlier in the season.
