The 19-year-old has been sparsely used this season and admitted to lacking confidence after returning in the summer out of shape.

Although he was rested and not involved in the squad against Port Vale, the winger started the previous two League Two games and impressed.

Now with a renewed sense of confidence Nolan is waiting for his next chance and has called on some of the clubs young talents to be patient.

“You’ve got to listen to the manager and the coaching staff because that’s going to get you on the pitch but as a young lad, be confident,” he said.

“You’re here for a reason, you are good enough. So it’s about implementing what you bring to the table but then what the manager wants you to do as well.

“I’ve been patient, I know I could have taken my opportunities earlier which arguably I probably didn’t but in the two games (I played) I think I’ve taken my opportunities and it’s the same for them.

“It might not work the first time but keep pushing and keep pushing.”
