Walsall sign midfielder Frank Vincent on-loan
Walsall have bolstered their ranks for the second day running with the loan signing of Frank Vincent from Bournemouth.
Following Jayden Reid's arrival from Birmingham on Tuesday – and Tyreik Wright's move from Aston Villa earlier in the window – Vincent becomes the third loan signing of the month for the Saddlers.
The 21-year-old midfielder spent the first half of the season on-loan at League Two rivals Scunthorpe, featuring eight times.
Previously he spent two spells with Torquay United, helping them win the National League South title in 2019.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to be joining the Saddlers,” Vincent said.
“I’m hoping to get game time and help the team win games to get into the play-offs. I want to help entertain the fans watching at home.
“From my time at Scunthorpe, I’ve realised how short the time is to make an impression. I’m going to take more risks in the right areas and express myself on the pitch.
“On the pitch, I’m a player who likes to combine with others and pass forward. I have a lot of energy to help the team going both ways.”
With Danny Guthrie currently sidelined with an unspecified injury, Vincent will provide more strength in depth in the middle of the park.
"We're delighted to bring Frank into the team,” manager Darrell Clarke said.
"He's left-footed and we see him as an attacking number eight.
"He can open things up, he can play in a two or in a three and he strengthens our midfield options.
"We haven't got a big squad so Frank will provide more competition for places in the second half of the season."
