Walsall Supporters Alliance triple fundraising target to feed families at Christmas
Walsall Supporters Alliance have passed the £1,000 mark in their fundraising mission for families in need this Christmas.
The group joined forces with volunteer group Walsall Outreach – as they aimed to raise £300 to feed 70 families in the borough on Christmas Day.
It took less than five hours to raise the desired £300 and now, with the support of Walsall fans, they have more than tripled their target by passing the £1,000 mark.
The money will be used to provide 30 Christmas lunches and 20 fish and chip dinners on Christmas Day, 70 Christmas dinners on bank holiday Monday and 82 food parcels for 82 families from December 21 to 28.
Any extra cash raised will still be passed on to Walsall Outreach to support their work in the weeks to come.
