Stuart Sinclair happy to mentor Walsall starlets
Veteran Stuart Sinclair is embracing his role as midfield mentor as Liam Kinsella and Alfie Bates impress for the Saddlers.
The 33-year-old has only made nine appearances this season, as his game time has been reduced from last season.
Kinsella has been one of the first names of the teamsheet this campaign, while Bates has steadily improved when introduced.
Now, Sinclair wants to help the pair ‘flourish’ to help the team and club move to the next level.
“I try and help as much as I can,” Sinclair said. “For me it’s always been about progressing as a side and in turn that helps you as a professional footballer.
“They go hand-in-hand and develop alongside each other.
“Anything that I can add, in terms of my experiences, I want to do that.
“He’s (Kinsella) been great, even in the time I’ve been here I’ve seen him develop massively.
“I can’t see any other way than him going up and pushing forward.
“For Alfie consistency is key.
How he’s developed already is amazing. He’ll have ups and downs and make mistakes but he can continue to get better.”
