Zak Jules is staying patient at Walsall
Walsall defender Zak Jules believes he was unlucky not to keep his place in the team following a strong start.
The 23-year-old was arguably man-of-the-match for the opening two cup games before the League Two campaign got underway.
He was then dropped for loanee left-back George Nurse as James Clarke and Dan Scarr continued at centre-back – resulting in Jules being used sporadically in the league.
When asked if he felt unlucky not to have kept his place, Jules said: “On a personal note, yeah I would say so.
“It’s a case of being patient and doing what I can and what I’m in control of, which is working hard and putting in a shift on the training pitch.
“When I do get on the pitch I showcase what I can do, that’s the only thing I’m in control of.
“I would say I was a little bit frustrated, but I’m just enjoying the game time I’m getting at the minute. Hopefully we can get some results to go with it, which makes it a lot harder for the manager to change the team. Any opportunity I get to play I give it my best and hopefully that’s enough.”
