The 24-year-old signed for the Saddlers in January 2019 and has had more regular game time in recent months after an injury to Shay Facey.

And despite the club losing their last three fixtures, Norman is pleased with the feel-good factor around camp.

“I think the team spirit is one of the best I’ve seen," he said.

"The gaffer really drives that through us as well and the boys stick together through thick and thin.

"The spirit in the group is good when we’re winning games or if the results aren’t going the right way we’ve got to stick together and that’s what we’ve been doing."

Manager Darrell Clarke secured the signings of 18-year-old winger Jack Nolan and defensive midfielder Nathan Sheron, on-loan from Fleetwood, in January.

The 42-year-old is pleased with how they have settled in at the club as he too praised the 'spirit' in the camp.

"They've settled in really well," he said.

"The spirit in the football club is fantastic, it's exactly where I want to be.

"It's been really pleasing to see, over the last six or seven months, that flourish.

"Through the good times and the bad times because there's always bad times in the footballing world.

"But the spirit and togetherness, it's important that we keep that and keep that environment.

"Obviously winning football games helps that environment, but even in the bad run in October the togetherness is what we continued to build.

"Spirit for me, also, is on the pitch.

"The players performing, that's where we need to see the real spirit and desire.

"Now, over a good period of time, we've shown that."
