Cameron Norman enjoying his start to life at Walsall
Cameron Norman has only good things to say about his time at Walsall so far.
The 23-year-old right-back is one of five who have joined the Saddlers this window, along with Scott Laird, Matt Jarvis, Dan Scarr and Omar Mussa.
And he has settled in seamlessly thanks to a warm welcome from boss Dean Keates and his new team-mates.
“I’ve got nothing but good things to say,” said Norman.
“The boys have been really good, and the staff have been really good as well.
“I’ve really enjoyed myself. I’m enjoying playing, so hopefully, the results can come. It’s important to keep the momentum up for me, to play as many games as I can.
“Hopefully, I can help Walsall as much as I can and have success here.
“It’s been a whirlwind start, but I’ve really enjoyed it.
“Hopefully, when we step out next time, we can get a positive result.”
Walsall are 15th in League One and have won just one of their last eight games, but Norman feels they have shown in his first two games – a 3-0 win at Gillingham and a 2-1 loss at Plymouth Argyle – that they are a good team.
“You can see what we can do, you can see what we can do to teams,” he said. “I think we’ve just got to iron out those little mistakes that are costing us at the moment, and then it’s in our own hands.”
Norman almost scored at Plymouth, with his header from close range hitting the post.
He has been told by Keates to offer a goal threat as well.
“The gaffer, since I’ve come in, with my size, has said I should be a threat in the box, attacking as well as defending,” added Norman.
“I was disappointed to hit the post, but hopefully, I’ll get a few more chances.”
