The 20-year-old centre-half checked in at the Banks’s Stadium alongside Wolves team-mate Connor Ronan.

Johnson, who made his Saddlers bow in the Checkatrade Trophy win at Burton, is with Walsall for the season. Ronan has joined until January.

He said: “It’s different because I have been at Wolves for about four years now. You are in a bit of a comfort zone there because you know everyone and how everything works.

“It’s good to come out and meet new people and learn different ways of playing. It is a great opportunity for me. I want to get minutes under my belt and bring something to the team.

“I want to play as many games as I can and improve as a player and as a person.”

Johnson has yet to make his senior bow with Wolves. He made 27 appearances on loan at National League North side AFC Telford United last term.
