Walsall announce friendly with Stoke City
Walsall will face Championship side Stoke City in pre-season, the club have announced.
Dean Keates' side will take on Gary Rowett and his promotion hopefuls on July 14 at the Banks's Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
Stoke were relegated from the Premier League last season, and have been quick to implement changes this summer, moving on from former Wolves boss Paul Lambert and bringing in ex-Blues manager Rowett from Derby.
Meanwhile, they've also added Benik Afobe to their ranks from Wolves, signing him up less than two weeks after the striker signed up at Molineux on a permanent basis from Bournemouth.
This game now makes for the fifth clash of pre-season for the Saddlers, who are also set to play Rushall Olympic, Aston Villa, Ajax and Cheltenham Town ahead of the start of the League One season.
