Loanees Zeli Ismail and Daniel Agyei leave Walsall for parent clubs
Zeli Ismail appears to have played his last game for Walsall after the club confirmed he has returned to Bury following his loan spell.
The 24-year-old joined the Saddlers on a temporary basis in August and over the past three months has become an integral part of Jon Whitney’s side.
Whitney has openly discussed his desire to keep the winger at the Banks’s Stadium, but he has now hinted any future deal is unlikely with the wide man set to return to Bury to help their fight to stay in League One.
The manager has also confirmed he won’t be extending the loan of striker Daniel Agyei who scored five times in 21 appearances for the club after joining on a temporary basis from Burnley.
“We would like to thank both Zeli and Dan for their efforts,” Whitney said.
“Dan’s attitude has been really good but we’ve just decided to go in a different direction and we couldn’t guarantee him minutes here.
“We would have absolutely loved to have kept Zeli but unfortunately he’s Bury’s player so they have called him back.”
