Former Walsall midfielder Willie Penman dies aged 79
Former Walsall midfielder Willie Penman has died aged 79, the club has confirmed.
The Scotsman, who joined the Saddlers from Swindon in 1970, made 123 league appearances for the club, scoring six goals.
Penman also represented Rangers, Newcastle and Seattle Sounders in a career that saw him play in more than 300 professional matches.
A statement from Walsall FC said: The thoughts of everyone at Walsall Football Club are with his family and friends at this sad time."
