Walsall's trading profit down by more than £200,000

Walsall's trading profit is down by more than £200,000, the club's report and accounts for the past year have confirmed.

The Saddlers' trading profit for the year ended May 31, 2017 was £215,000 – compared to £417,000 in the previous year.

The report also revealed match receipts are down by £425,000.

Rent (of the Banks's Stadium, training ground, overflow car park and machinery) has gone up by £49,000 to £449,000 while debt has decreased.

"I am delighted to once again be able to announce a trading profit, this time of £215,000 (2016 - £417,000)," said chairman Jeff Bonser.

"In addition to this our borrowings have been significantly reduced over the year.

"On behalf of everyone at Walsall Football Club, I would like to say a big thank you to the supporters.

"As always, they have been exceptional and I would like to assure them all that all of our efforts are focused on giving them a team and a club to be proud of."
