The 28-year-old midfielder, who was man of the match for the Saddlers in the 2-1 defeat to Charlton at the weekend, signed for the club in the summer of 2015.

However, Osbourne missed the entirety of the 2015/16 season, in which the club reached the League One play-offs, due to a severe knee injury.

The ex-Villa man impressed boss Jon Whitney enough over the summer to earn a new deal and the defeat to Charlton was just his third appearance for Walsall. On being back out on the pitch again, Osbourne said: "

I'm feeling good, I feel like I'll get more sharper with every game. Obviously there a few cobwebs after 14 months out. Hopefully, my best is still to come."

Another midfielder currently on the sidelines for Walsall is skipper Adam Chambers (hamstring). He is expected to return for the Bury game on Saturday and Osbourne added: "He is a big miss obviously with his leadership on the pitch."

The Saddlers' match at Bristol Rovers has been moved from Saturday, September 3, to Tuesday, September 13, because of international call-ups.
