The 23-year-old yesterday signed a three-year-deal with the Tykes, ending a two-year stay at the Banks's Stadium.

He had scored 40 goals and earned a first senior Wales cap, after playing a key role in the Saddlers run to Wembley in 2015 and their third-placed finish in League One last season.

Bradshaw, who moved to Oakwell in a deal believed to be worth around £650,000, claims such memories will never be forgotten as he begins the next stage of his career.

In a message posted on Twitter after the transfer was completed, Bradshaw wrote: "I would like to say a massive thank you.

"That's everyone that's involved and has been involved with Walsall football club over the past two years. The staff, players, chairman and most of all the fans have made me and my family feel very welcome.

"We've made made memory's (sic) that will never be forgotten! The club's given me the opportunity to play at Wembley, an incredible achievement and an unforgettable experience.

"It was made all the more spectacular by the 30,000 Saddlers in attendance. I will always remember Walsall as the fantastic club it i.

"I'll always remember how it has enhanced my career beyond my belief and allowed me to perform at an international level."

Bradshaw proved an inspired signing for Walsall after joining them from Shrewsbury for a nominal fee two years ago.

His future had been the subject of much speculation after the Saddlers narrowly missed out on promotion from League One.

An offer from Preston and two from Rotherham were rejected prior to the striker handing in a written transfer request earlier this week, citing a desire to play in the Championship.

That prompted Barnsley to lodge a formal bid and Bradshaw believes the move to Oakwell is the best thing for his career.

He added: "I'm truly grateful for everything that Walsall Football Club has given me.

"I've been lucky enough to get an opportunity to move on and better myself as both a professional footballer and a person. That is what I believe is best, not only for me but also for my family.

"I wish the club the very best going forward and hope to see them in a promotion push again this year."
