Walsall FC new kits: Saddlers show off 2016-17 strips at New Invention School in Willenhall

School was out for Walsall Football Club today as they took the wraps off their new home and away kits for next season away from the Banks's Stadium.

The Saddlers revealed their strips at New Invention Junior School in Willenhall, after they won a competition to stage the event through club sponsors Home Serve.

First-team manager Jon Whitney, captain Adam Chambers and new signing Florent Cuvelier all attended and posed for photographs, along with signing autographs.

Parents were asked to tell Home Serve through Facebook why their child's school should receive a visit and there were 187 entries by the closing date.

The was prize awarded to New Invention, in recognition of their support to the surrounding community and their charity fundraising initiatives.

As well as being able to witness the official kit launch, children from the school will also be treated to a coaching session held by Saddlers' coaches.

Walsall's chief executive officer Stefan Gamble said: "The club have a very strong relationship with the local community.

"We are delighted to support Home Serve with this exciting initiative.

"This is a great opportunity for the next generation of Walsall supporters to meet the manager and two first-team players.

"The official kit launch is always a much-anticipated event and we are delighted to be able to share it with a local school, who have also contributed significantly to the area."

John Greaves, brand director of Home Serve, added: "Having been based in Walsall for over 20 years, we are really proud supporters of our local community.

"It's been fantastic to be able to bring Walsall's official kit launch to a school, especially one like New Invention who share our passion for helping their neighbouring communities.

"We know that there are many Saddlers fans at New Invention and are excited to work with Walsall to bring such an exciting event right into the heart of our local area."
