The Saddlers are likely to remain managerless for both this weekend's fixture and Tuesday night's FA Cup replay at home to Chesterfield.
The means caretakers John Ward, Jon Whitney and Neil Cutler - the latter fronting today's press conference - will remain in temporary charge.
