Walsall come from behind to see off Halesowen
Wes Rush grabbed the winner as a Walsall side came from behind to beat Halesowen Town in a pre-season friendly at the Grove.
The youngster fired home with 18 minutes remaining to seal a narrow win for the Saddlers team.
Jason Wellings had earlier put the hosts ahead 10 minutes into the second-half, but trialist Jordan Ball levelled almost immediately.
Walsall's side was made up mainly of youth team players but was notable for the presence of Craig Westcarr.
He played along with trialists Ball, Romaine Sawyers, James McQuilkin, Joel Purkiss and Shane Lewis.
The home side featured Ben Haseley, who this week re-signed for the club, along with a host of new names.
After a goalless first half, Halesowen boss John Hill made nine changes and it was one of the new men who broke the deadlock 10 minutes after the restart.
Wellings finished a nice move with a low drilled finish past Lewis and into the bottom corner.
But the Saddlers were behind for less than two minutes, Ball shooting high into the net from 10 yards out after collecting a Sawyers pull-back.
Substitute keeper Sam Pearson saved superbly from an Alex Dallison header but was powerless to stop Rush putting the Saddlers ahead.
The substitute finished smartly at the second attempt after being set up by Ball.
