Andy Taylor signs a new contract with Walsall FC
Andy Taylor today signed a new 18-month contract at Walsall as the Saddlers continued tying down their stars.
The left-back has impressed since arriving at the Saddlers last August to become a key member of the squad.
The 26-year-old has made 22 appearances for the team this season, ahead of Saturday's visit of Oldham in League One.
Manager Dean Smith said: "I'm really pleased that Andy has agreed this deal.
""He will be the first to admit that he came here with a lot of questions in his own mind having been out injured for a long period during his time at Sheffield United.
"But he has gone on to become a valuable member of the team here and has gradually built his fitness levels back up again.
"He's an experienced lad who has really helped the youngsters around him. He has put in a consistent level of performance for us and is also a great character and personality to have around the football club.
"This is another important piece of the jigsaw in place."
Taylor joins fellow left-back Malvind Benning in signing a new deal this month, while Craig Westcarr has joined until the end of the season and youth team captain Matt Preston penned an 18-month contract on Tuesday.
