New Walsall winger James Baxendale today admitted he has been given licence to thrill by boss Dean Smith – but insisted he must fight for his place first.
The 19-year-old joined the Saddlers after being released by League One rivals Doncaster in the summer.
And the winger is desperate to showcase his skills at the Banks's Stadium knowing he can thrive in the Saddlers' set-up.
He said: "The style of play here suits me down to the ground. It gives us all the chance to be the best we can. Everything is done properly and I am really enjoying it here.
"The opportunity to be able to go out and express yourself is a massive thing for me. It's the chance to show what you can do and I am looking forward to getting that chance.
"It's a team game and everyone here has a role to play within the team," he added.
"The main thing is picking up points and if I can break into the team and help us achieve that, then I will be delighted."
