Gary Hackett happy with pressure at Stourbridge
Gary HACKETT believes pressure could bring out the best in Stourbridge as they look to nail down second place in the Evo-Stik Central Premier.
The Glassboys kick-off an Easter weekend double bill when they host fourth-placed Alvechurch tomorrow night (kick-off 7.30pm).
It is followed by a trip to Rushall on Monday, before they round off the season by hosting third-placed King’s Lynn Town on Saturday week.
Stour have sat second in the standings, behind runaway leaders Kettering, for several months.
Boss Hackett explained: “It feels like we have been in no-man’s land for a long period of time. We haven’t been able to catch Kettering and we have not really been in any danger of being caught ourselves until now.
“Credit to Alvechurch and King’s Lynn, they have both put together good runs to close the gap.
“I think we will be better for playing under a bit of pressure now.”
The rest of the division play on Saturday. Halesowen Town, already relegated, head to Biggleswade Town searching for their first win since early February. Rushall Olympic head to fellow mid-table outfit Royston Town.
