Coalville Town 6 Stourbridge 4 - Report

The Glassboys suffered their first defeat of the season in sensational style after leaking six goals in Leicestershire.

Stourbridge paid the price for a poor start which saw them go 3-0 down in the space of 16 minutes.

Tolani Omotola fired Coalville in front on six minutes before Tim Berridge burst clean through the Glassboys defence to make it 2-0 on eight minutes.

Alex Steane struck a third Coalville goal on 16 minutes after getting the better of Glassboys defender Paul McCone.

Stourbridge then staged a stunning recovery and fought their way back to level just after the half hour.

Coalville defender Kyle Bryant needlessly headed into his own goal on 22 minutes before new signing Callum Powell set up the chance for Greg Mills to make it 3-2 on 29 minutes.

Stourbridge levelled on 31 minutes when Mills pulled the ball back for Powell who in turn set up Luke Benbow to slot home.

But the good work was undone on 38 minutes when Coalville regained the lead after McCone brought down Bryant and Andrew Wright converted from the resulting penalty.

Stubborn Stourbridge were back level again on the hour when Leon Broadhurst headed home a Rob Thompson-Brown cross.

Coalville came back to clinch the points in style with two goals in as many minutes.

Before Stourbridge could recover, Omotola created the opening for Tom McGlinchey to crack home into the top corner of the net to complete a stunning six goal salvo.
