Benbow was brought down in the area two minutes from time and after around five minutes of arguing and pushing and shoving which saw Barwell skipper Brady Hickey sent off, he made no mistake from the spot.

It was probably just about the right result, Stourbridge improving after the break when going in one down at half time.

Massiah McDonald opened the scoring on 42 minutes when he converted a cross at the far post from Hickey, who was given plenty of space down the right.

Barwell had made the running from the start, Jai Rowe putting a curving shot wide and then seeing a low cross scrambled away by the Stourbridge defence.

The Glassboys had no real chances in the first half but improved early in the second, Broadhurst also having a chance to score from the spot three minutes after the break when new signing Greg Mills went down in the box, but the spot kick was missed.

Benbow though made no mistake late on to rescue the point and they will be hoping to go one better at home to Stratford on Monday night.
