Stourbridge 1 Whitby Town 1 - Report and pictures
Stourbridge let victory slip from their grasp when held to a 1-1 draw by ten men Whitby Town.
The kick-off was delayed for over an hour after Whitby got stuck in traffic on the M42.
But Glassboys struggled to breakdown a stubborn Whitby side before being given a huge helping hand by referee Darren Wilding when he awarded them a penalty on the hour after striker Kyle Perry had been brought down by Whitby defender Luke Bytheway.
Long serving Leon Broadhurst marked his 703rd appearence for Stourbridge by netting from the spot.
Whitby's woe increased further when Bytheway was then sent off five minutes later after scything down debut boy Kaiman Anderson, the former Shrewsbury Town player having joined Stourbridge on loan from Southport.
Despite being down to 10 men, Whitby stepped up a gear and levelled when substitute Kieron Weledji out muscled defender Paul McCone before firing home on 79 minutes when his shot deflected into the net off luckless Glassboiys goalkeeper Matt Gould.
