The Glassboys face Spennymoor Town FC in the play-off final of the Northern Premier League.

If they win, Stour will return to the second tier of the non-league pyramid for the first time in more than 30 years.

On Thursday night, scores of supporters queued up to buy coach tickets for the 200-mile plus journey.

Coaches departed from Old Wharf Road at 8.30am this morning for the long trip.

Chairman Andy Pountney said: "It has been a terrific season, what with the cup and now the play-off final.

"We hope for a good backing, I know plenty who have already said they are going.

"It is a long trip up and we appreciate the support."

The two sides drew 2-2 at the 3,000 capacity ground when they met in league action back in November.

In the fixture back in the Black Country in December, the evenly-matched sides shared the spoils again with a 1-1 draw.

Stourbridge were last in the second tier of non-league football when they were relegated from the Southern League Premier Division in 1984.

The game today comes after the club beat Workington 3-2 in the semi-final of the play-offs on Monday night.

It caps a successful season for the club, who reached the Third Round of the FA Cup after an historic run – eventually losing to League Two side Wycombe.

Thousands of supporters attended the game at Adams Park with a fleet of 12 coaches setting off from the War Memorial Ground.
