Stafford Rangers 0 Scarborough Athletic 1 - Report
Stafford Rangers saw their mixed season continue as they suffered a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Scarborough Athletic.
Rangers beat Lancaster City in mid-week and started well with skipper Alex Harvey having the best of the opening chances for the hosts running through on goal 22 minutes into the tie but firing his effort over the crossbar.
The long throw of Tom Tonks once again caused problems for Boro’s opposition finding Jake Charles whose effort took a touch off James O’Neil which deflected the ball wide.
Despite the first half Rangers efforts it was the visitors who took a 70th minute when Josh Barrett drilled his cross in for captain Nathan Cartman to fire home.
Rangers probed for a way back into the tie late in the game with Ethan Stewart and Joe Cuff both having sights at goal to no avail.
