The veteran centre-half has missed the last three games with a hamstring strain.

Boro are looking for a big win against the Pics after losing six of their last seven outings – most recently being dumped out of the Walsall Senior Cup with a surprising 4-0 defeat at Lye Town on Tuesday night.

“I had to settle it down to begin with and now I’ve stepped up my work,” said Jones.

“I’m hoping to be there or thereabouts (for Rushall).

“I’m feeling a lot better than I was a week ago.”

Jones, naturally, is disappointed with Rangers’ recent results but is sure they will turn things around soon.

“I’m not too discouraged by the recent blip,” he said.

“In recent weeks, we’ve had one or two disappointing displays from our point of view, given how we can play and what we’ve shown previously this season.

“I thought Saturday (the 3-1 loss to Hyde United) was a large improvement on that so the result was hard to take.

“The one thing we can take from Saturday is that we’re heading in the right direction – the performance in the second half, moments of quality.”

Jones added: “There’s things to work on, but positives as well.”
