The 33-year-old midfielder is back for a second spell at Marston Road, having also played for AFC Telford United, Nuneaton Town, Tamworth, Hednesford Town and Leamington.

“He’s been around,Jon has got a lot of experience,” said Burr.

“He’s coming back in and I’m really looking forward to working with him.

“I think you need that experience in the dressing room – and experienced lads seem to look after themselves a lot better these days.

“We’ve got Jon in as well as Luke Jones and Tom Thorley, it’s absolutely vital to have that experience in the squad.”

Adams took a break from the game last year and has played for England’s futsal team.

Rangers begin pre-season training a week on Saturday and Burr is happy with how the squad is shaping up.

He added: “We’ve got plenty signed up and there’ll be more coming in for pre-season, looking to impress.

“We’ve added Jon, a cracking midfielder, and hopefully more can stake a claim.

“I’m pleased with how things have gone. We’ve gone about our business pretty quietly, signed some really good players.

“I’m happy with how things are going and I’m excited to get pre-season started.”
